Digital Kit and website positioning: be careful what you sign up for

We are increasingly coming across similar cases.

Real estate agencies that have hired website positioning services through the Digital Kit, expecting to improve their visibility on Google… and months later, the reality is very different.

Little work. Few results. And a lot of frustration.

The problem isn’t the Digital Kit. It’s how it’s used

Let’s make one thing clear from the start:

The Digital Kit is not the problem. The problem is how some companies are using it.

Because when SEO turns into a “fixed package” that needs to be justified, what should be a medium- to long-term strategy becomes minimal tasks, poorly executed and with no real impact.

And that’s exactly what we’re seeing.

A real case (that will probably sound familiar)

Recently, we analysed the SEO work of a company that had come from another agency.

The result for the month?

Practically all the work focused on backlinks.

In fact, the report clearly stated that the strategy was based on “acquiring links to increase domain authority”

And when you look more closely…

  • 1 guest post created
  • 2 links “pending publication”

That’s it.

Is this really SEO?

No. This is just one part of SEO. And a very small part at that.

The problem is that these types of reports can look professional, with tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush or eye-catching graphs…

But when you scratch beneath the surface, you realise the actual work is minimal.

And this is where many agencies fall short.

What they’re NOT doing (and should be)

Real website positioning is not based on a single action.

A proper SEO service should, at the very least, cover these pillars:

✔ Content

  • Creating pages that rank
  • Strategic blog content
  • Landing pages targeting real keywords

✔ On-page SEO

  • Text optimisation
  • Website structure
  • Internal linking
  • Optimised URLs

✔ Keyword strategy

  • Real market research
  • Focus on areas and property types
  • Adaptation to different languages

✔ User experience

  • Clear navigation
  • Fast website
  • Mobile optimisation

✔ Authority (links)

  • Yes, links too… but done properly

If only one part is being worked on, there is no strategy.

The problem with paying €2,000… for almost nothing

What’s concerning is not just the work.

It’s the cost.

Because many of these Digital Kit providers are charging close to €2,000 for services that, in practice, are limited to very basic actions.

And the client doesn’t realise it.

Because they have nothing to compare it with.

How to tell if your SEO isn’t working

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Are they creating new content every month?
  • Have they optimised your main pages?
  • Have they proposed new keywords?
  • Is your website better structured than it was 3 months ago?
  • Are you seeing more qualified traffic?

If the answer is “NO” to several of them…

You’re probably not getting real SEO.

What we do at Mediaelx (and why it’s different)

At Mediaelx, we approach website positioning for what it really is: a complete strategy.

Not as a “service to justify a grant”.

Our approach includes:

  • Monthly SEO content creation (blogs + quick links)
  • Ongoing website optimisation
  • Real keyword strategy
  • Multilingual work
  • Improving structure and navigation
  • Actions aimed at appearing in AI (ChatGPT, etc.)
  • And yes, link building too… but done properly

Everything connected. Everything measured. Everything with a purpose.

SEO is not immediate. But it should be noticeable

Website positioning takes time. But that doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be signs of progress:

  • More traffic
  • Better rankings
  • More enquiries
  • Higher quality leads

If you’re not seeing any of this…

Something isn’t right.

Before hiring SEO, check this

Before hiring or renewing an SEO service, ask for:

  • What specific tasks will be carried out each month
  • Real examples of previous work
  • How they will improve your website
  • What results you can expect

Is your estate agency getting the SEO service it really needs?

SEO can become one of the most profitable investments for an estate agency. But it can also turn into a waste of time, money and opportunities if it’s not backed by a real strategy.

The difference isn’t in “doing SEO”. The difference lies in how it’s done, what is worked on each month and who is behind the service.
