Last Tuesday, we held our Spanish webinar on real estate XML imports, an exclusive session for clients in which we discussed real problems, common questions and practical solutions to improve the management of imported properties.

During the webinar, one thing became very clear: XML management is a topic of great interest to estate agencies because it is part of their day-to-day work.

More and more agencies are working with external providers, collaborators, MLS systems, new-build developments or large property catalogues. And although XML is a very useful tool for saving time and expanding the property portfolio, it can also raise questions when something is not imported as expected.

That is why we felt it was essential to also offer this session in English, for our international clients and English-speaking estate agents who work with XML and want to resolve their questions in a clear and practical way.

This webinar will not be a difficult technical explanation to follow. The idea is to resolve real situations that many agencies encounter when working with XML.

We will talk about common questions such as:

• Why the names of other agencies appear within the descriptions
• Why some manual changes disappear the next day
• Why property types or locations are duplicated
• Why some imported properties only show one photograph at first
• What happens when images arrive with another agency’s watermark
• Why not all available languages are always imported
• What information may be left out of the XML even though it appears on the provider’s website
• Why very large XML feeds can affect the performance of the website or CRM
• How to correctly hide imported properties
• Why the number of properties shown on the website is not always the same as the number included in the XML

The aim is for estate agents to better understand what happens behind each import and what steps they can take to work with a more organised, reliable and professional catalogue.
