They didn’t want a “translated” website: Homes in the Sun opts for a real experience for its international clients

There are estate agency websites that simply display properties. And there are others that are created to respond to a much more specific need: to connect better with a very defined type of client.

That is the case of the new digital project for Homes in the Sun, an established estate agency on the Costa Blanca that has trusted Mediaelx to develop a new website + CRM aligned with their way of working, their international focus and their approach to client service.

From the outset there were two very clear priorities:

  • to have a genuine estate agency website in Hungarian, designed for Hungarian clients looking to buy or rent on the Costa Blanca
  • to create a simple, intuitive and comfortable platform for an international client, in many cases over 60 years old

An experienced estate agency needed a website to match

Homes in the Sun, based in Playa Flamenca, Orihuela Costa, has been helping buyers, owners and tenants on the Costa Blanca since 2006.

Their activity covers different areas of the property sector:

  • property sales
  • long-term lettings
  • winter rentals
  • property management

All of this with a way of working based on proximity, honesty and professionalism. And precisely there lay one of the keys to the project: the new website had to reflect this way of doing things.

It wasn't just about renewing the design. It was about building a digital tool coherent with their business, with their audience and with the experience they wanted to offer.

An easy-to-use website is not a detail: it's a priority

One of the most important points of the project was clear from the beginning. The website had to be very easy to use.

Homes in the Sun works with many clients aged 60 and over, people who particularly value clear navigation, an intuitive structure and a search without unnecessary steps. For this type of profile, an overly cluttered or complicated website doesn't convey modernity, it conveys difficulty.

Therefore, the approach to the project has been very specific: to create an estate agency website where everything is simpler from the very first moment.

What has been sought with this approach?

  • clear navigation
  • easy-to-understand categories
  • direct access to different property types
  • less friction during the search
  • a more comfortable experience for international users

When an estate agency knows its client well, it understands that usability is not secondary. It's part of the service.

Language is also part of the experience

This project also had a very specific need that made it even more interesting.

Reka was looking for a website in several languages, but didn't want to simply rely on automatic translations. In particular, she needed a genuine Hungarian version, designed for Hungarians, with natural and understandable communication for that audience.

And there lies one of the great differences between a truly multilingual website and one that merely "suffices".

Because when a user enters an estate agency page from another country, they're not just looking for houses. They're also looking for trust. They're looking to properly understand what they're seeing. They're looking to feel that this company knows how to address them and isn't speaking to them through a generic translator.

This approach is especially important for an estate agency like Homes in the Sun, which works with international clients and needs to connect with them from the very first moment.

One website, several different needs

Another important challenge of the project was to properly organise the entire offering of Homes in the Sun.

We're not talking about an estate agency focused on a single product. Their website had to clearly present several different lines:

  • new build
  • resale properties
  • long-term rentals
  • winter rentals

When a company offers such different services, the website structure is everything. If it's not well planned, users can easily get lost. If it's well resolved, however, each visit becomes much more logical, quick and useful.

Therefore, one of the objectives has been to organise information so that each person quickly finds what they need, without having to follow unnecessary paths or review content that doesn't interest them.

New build needed its own space and better explanation

Within Homes in the Sun's entire offering, new build had particularly significant weight.

And here came another very clear need: it wasn't enough to show individual properties. Users needed a more comfortable way to understand each project.

For this, the new website incorporates the Developments tool, a feature especially useful for presenting new build developments in a much clearer and more complete manner.

Why does this tool make the difference?

Because it allows clients to better understand a project without having to review dozens of properties one by one.

And that, in new build, completely changes the experience.

A buyer interested in a development doesn't want to limit themselves to seeing isolated properties. They want to understand the whole:

  • what project it is
  • where it is
  • what type of properties it includes
  • what style it has
  • which options best fit what they're looking for

Showing new build this way not only improves usability. It also helps to sell better, because it provides context, organises information and facilitates decision-making.

Website + CRM: a combination designed to work better

At Mediaelx, an estate agency website isn't understood as a simple showcase. It has to be a useful tool both for the user and for the team that manages it.

Therefore, in projects like this, the website + CRM aspect takes on special significance.

It's not just about having a more current page. It's about having a digital foundation better prepared to:

  • better present the catalogue
  • organise commercial opportunities
  • offer a more consistent experience
  • improve internal management
  • strengthen the professional image of the brand

When design, structure and management work in the same direction, the project gains genuine value.

A website that fits their way of working

One of the greatest successes of this project is that it hasn't been built from a generic idea of "estate agency website", but from the specific reality of Homes in the Sun.

That means understanding who their client is. Understanding how they search. Understanding what they need to read. Understanding what might confuse them. And also understanding what they expect from a company that will accompany them in important decisions.

Therefore, this new website doesn't seek to be complex. It seeks to be useful. It doesn't seek to accumulate information. It seeks to organise it well. It doesn't seek to appear international. It seeks to genuinely be so.

And that's where this project gains strength.
